Who We Are
A Baptist
church in
Visalia.
We kept the word Baptist in our name on purpose. We know the word carries baggage — cold formalism, tradition for tradition's sake, churches more concerned with culture than with Christ. That is not what Baptist means here.
Baptist, for us, is a theological conviction: that the local church is a gathered body of believers only, marked by believer's baptism, congregational accountability, the lordship of Christ over the conscience, and the absolute authority of Scripture over every tradition, preference, and trend. We wear the name because we believe what it historically stands for — not because we are bound by what it has sometimes become.
You will not find cold religion or frozen tradition here. You will find a congregation alive to the Word, committed to one another, and serious about following Christ in an ordinary local church.
More about us
Foundations
Three pillars
of this church.
Expository
Preaching
We open the Bible passage by passage "” explaining what the text says before drawing out how it shapes life in the church and in the world. The pulpit drives everything we do.
Meaningful
Membership
Church is not a spectator event here. We want believers known, cared for, encouraged, and held accountable within a loving local body "” not anonymous in a crowd.
Clear
Doctrine
We do not hide what we believe. Our convictions are grounded in Scripture and explained with enough clarity that visitors can understand exactly where we stand.
Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.
Colossians 1:28 · ESV
